The 2013 DIMA Summer Institute is open for participants of all ages, but because of the limited capacity of the program there will be a selection based on level of performance and artistic merit.

Throughout the two weeks, students will have individual lessons and chamber music coachings; there will be master classes and concerts open to the public.

Faculty will include the grammy-nominated St Petersburg String Quartet, world-renowned Duo Petrof, critically-acclaimed cellist Eugene Osadchy and the chorus master for the Dallas Opera Alexander Rom as visiting lecturer.

On Friday, May 4, 2012, the meeting room of the Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas, Texas, was the scenario of an historical event: the signing of an agreement of cooperation between the University of Colima (Mexico) and Dallas International Music Academy (USA). The ceremony was chaired by Consul General Juan Carlos Cue Vega; Consul Jonathan Chait Auerbach and Consul for Cultural and Economic Affairs Jennifer Apperti Ochoa were present. From the University of Colima we had the distinguished presence of Rector Dr. Ramon Arturo Cedillo Nakay, and Dr. Anatoly Zatin, Dean of the Institute of Fine Arts; and from Dallas International Music Academy (DIMA) its President Robert Rosenthal, and Dr. James Saikin, chief operating officer.

Following this agreement, Dallas International Music Academy will open a campus in its facilities where the Bachelor of Music program currently offered at the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Colima, will be implemented in full. This is the first time a program of the University of Colima will be adopted by a U.S. institution. The new dual diploma program will consist of a combination of the Bachelor of Music program at the University of Colima, which will be implemented in DIMA, and the Artist Diploma of the Dallas International Music Academy. In addition, this agreement provides for student exchange between both academic institutions. Students of the Music Department of the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Colima and students of the Dallas International Music Academy, as well as students from around the world, will benefit from this new agreement, which will allow international studies under the guidance of internationally renowned faculty.
